RIP Hunter Thompson
I can't believe he's gone. Thompson was one of my favorite writers. His book on the '72 Presidential campaign is, underneath the gonzo writing style, a classic on American politics. He was a hater of hypocrisy, ignorance and thuggery. I miss him already. He once wrote:
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! What a Ride!'"
Thanks for the lift, Hunter.
