I know this is incredibly geeky, but there's a site created by a bunch of Trekkies creating NEW episodes of the first "5 year mission" The plot of the episode I saw was not a great story line, but it is a very impressive amateur effort, with lots of little in-jokes and steals from the original series, and a very cute use of the original soundtrack music. In fact "cute" is how I'd describe the whole thing. And the fact of the matter is that at this point in my life I'd prefer some inspired amateurs to a bunch of corporate suits providing my entertainment anyway.
