Happy Veterans Day!

There's something kinda weird about the above exclamation. My knowledge of English doesn't give me a a word or two that really expresses the mood and appreciation that the date represents. I've always been in awe of physical courage, (having practically none, myself), and so I find those men and women who have been in combat all the more interesting and indeed, heroic. You study military history and wonder at the people who made it through battle. And you go up to Arlington, and see the guys who didn't. "Happy Veterans Day" just seems so out of place. At any rate, at least a few of you reading this are or have been in the military - Thanks. Shalom.
