Happy Birthday Al Stewart!

Another of my faves - a great pop balladeer. And what song topics! Not just your standard boy meets girl stuff - Al's written great tunes about Nostradamus, Hitler's invasion of Russia, the Basque resistance to Franco, the Cold War, Josephine Baker, the Lost Generation, and a host of other historical topics. And then there's his biggest hit, (and another of my faves), - The Year of the Cat.
