I'm not sure a British citizen talking up their country really qualifies as a "secret agent", and it is pretty silly to think that we would have locked him up for it, or that the nazis would have sent in an undercover sniper team to take him out. It is even sillier to tout gaining access to Clark Gable as some sort of wartime mission. But I guess he did get ahold of Danny Kaye...
