Happy Birthday Johnny Carson!

Pop culture used to be a near monolith; it is totally fragmented now. I don't find that to be a particularly bad thing, but occasionally it's nice to have at least a small patch of psychic common ground. Carson and the Tonight Show were probably about the last example of that. One of the best humorists of his generation, Johnny's talent was unique - reacting funnily to bad jokes, rather than relying on good ones.
