cyber chatter

I guess it's a measure of my old fartism, but I suspect that this software's success may say less about it, and more about what passes for conversation amongst people in chat rooms. Crushing banality, foundation-less bravado, and shallow come-ons are pretty easy to mimic, (and to make fun of....). I've never been to a chat room, but some of the conversations I see carried on at people's personal websites already resemble the clueless and random sputterings of some Russian geek's idea of scintillating conversation.
