the end of corporate control over media

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/12/28/AR2007122800693.html

There is nothing nicer than watching a big, fat, spoiled dinosaur, wallowing around in a tar pit, slowly sinking and thrashing around blindly. The recording industry has decided that the only way to make money is to sue the people who buy its product - beautiful! Simply poetic! The twelve or so companies that almost completely own and determine what music you see and/or hear on radio, TV, concert halls and recordings have managed to destroy American pop culture, at least above ground. And now, with parasitical fury, hope to drain the last bit of blood from the very people who've kept them in business. Good riddance to both.
Look to the independents online and in homes. They are the little cultural mammals, scurrying around beneath the dying brontosaurs of WEA, Sony, and Clear Channel.
