Yawn. all that has been proven here is that rats can be trained to play with things. I've no doubt that a million psych grad students can make the same claim. Rats can be trained to press levers that make lights go on and then have food automatically provided to them. That doesn't mean they understand levers, electricity, or much of anything else outside of a primitive S/R mechanism. B.F. Skinner taught two pigeons to "play" ping pong, I suppose these scientists will claim that they're smart enough to form a tournament association.
