A sad update

I just wanted to let folks know that my mother-in-law, Muriel, passed away yesterday morning. To make a long story short, Linda went over to the apartment and discovered her. There were no signs of discomfort at all. One moment she was quietly reading a book, and the next one she was gone. She'll be interred up at Arlington with her husband. It is sadly ironic that her grand daughter had just arrived here to visit with he for the first time in six years, and she passes away a couple of hours before that reunion would take place.
Linda is holding up well, but she loved her mother dearly and looked after her. There will be many changes and reminders of loss in the weeks and months ahead. Sometimes, growing older seems to be little more than tallying up those losses.
