Hot Stuff!

There have been a few interesting changes here at the Manor over the last week or two. We just got a new computer, a Dell, and it's our first laptop. It's also the first machine I've ever had with Windows Vista. In addition, we got rid of the old cable service and now have fiber optics, and am wireless with an additional hard drive on the network for backups, etc. This 21st century stuff can be pretty neat!
The irony, (and there' s always irony here at the Manor), is that one of the main reasons I wanted such portability was so we could take the machine into the living room, sit in front of the fireplace and listen to the collection of old radio shows I have on MP3 files. So, we're spending a small fortune on 2008 technology in order to be entertained by 1938 technology. Go figure.
I'll also take this opportunity to thank my friend John for helping hook all of this stuff up and get it working properly - we couldn't have done it with out you, man. Nearly six hours of work and all it cost was some shoo-fly pie and some Arrogant Bastard beer. We really appreciate it!
