I never had more than a very limited faith in this method. It struck me as being akin to a double action form of divination. First, the subject had to interpret the pictures, (which would be heavily influenced by experience and upbringing, etc.) and then the doctor would have to interpret the subject's words. I think there can be great value in this method - if the two participants jibe. But then, I've always thought that Tarot or the I Ching would be just as good, and probably better. (There's a doctoral dissertaion waiting for someone to explore that angle further, I'm convinced).
