Halloween afternoon
'Tis a gloomy cloudy afternoon here at the Manor. Not quite sunny, not quite dusk; a perfect representation of the date's significance as a conduit between life and death, harvest's bounty and winter's want, light and dark.
We're ready for the trick-or-treaters, even as we begin to put away some of our decorations and bring down the fireplace tools for the coming November nights. For many, tonight's a time for parties, for begging and for fright. For others of us, it's a time for telling stories of those who have passed on, of opening up an old bottle of cabernet, and of shuffling the Tarot. Have fun tonight, folks!
