I tend to only really enjoy two types of stage magic - and from totally different perspectives. I love card tricks, and I never try to figure them out. I just want to sit back and be amazed. The simplicity of it I just find beautiful and pure.
But the other performance I really like is mentalism. And here I do pay laser-like attention to what is being done, and how. This is entertainment for those of us who play Poker or Diplomacy.
