Live Crab Vending Machine

I confess that I don't really get this.  It's got to cost a lot to buy these things, due to the overhead.  And, at the risk of giving you a straight line, what the hell do you do with them once you've got your little pet?  There appears to be no way to cook them, and although I'm no expert on Chinese crabs, I'd be surprised if there's that much meat on a single one to begin with.
