I'm trying to get the brain cells to focus, here.  If I remember correctly, he was Ravi's nephew, and went on to a pretty good career in Indian soundtracks and pop.  But this was off of his big attempt to crash the American market, (which failed miserably).  Nevertheless, I always liked his fusion of Indian and Western musical styles.
