An interesting title choice by the BBC. I don't mind machines, myself, and see their increasing sophistication as inevitable. But I hate humanizing them. I hate any device that talks at me* or that has been provided with human-like features, etc.
*And no, I don't count radios and stereos in that description. They are simply devices for conveying human-based noises. They aren't designed to try and lull me into thinking that I'm dealing with a thinking, communicating mechanism.
