A new controversy over jet fighter development in WWII

Quite interesting, if true.

  • Obviously have not read this book. However, an Italian firm was also developing jets. Due to finances, they gave up quite quickly.
Question is, did they see Whittle's patent also, or were they following a different approach independently?
Am a little skeptical, but this is within possibility.
There is some serious research showing that the Japanese four engine flying boat, Mavis, was taken from plans made to expand the USN catalina into a four engine flying boat.
This could be the same situation.
