Discovered this tune around this time of year in '77 and instantly fell in love with it. One of my all-time faves. Freedom and Defiance in the face of loss and defeat. A wonderful example of what was happening as British pub rock turned punk. This song helped keep me alive in that oh-so-cold Winter of 77-78. I would also mention that the Rods were the real thing - kids from the streets, not posing art students. This is music as survival. This is Rock'N'Roll.
