We see this again and again.  There really does seem to be a trend in this country.  The requirement for serving on a school board, or being a school administrator is that you have to be incredibly stupid, hidebound, petty, authoritarian, wildly unrealistic, inflexible, short-sighted, immature, reality-rejecting, and completely lacking in any sense of judgement, perspective, humor or patience - all on the public dime.  Frankly, I'd rather deal with the first grader...
