Frankenstorm, continued
Well, there's a light rain that has started here at the Manor. But so far, no big deal. On the other hand, all of our weather reports are literally screaming the deluge is hitting tomorrow. Almost everything is closing down as I type this - the Metro, trains, buses, the Federal government, all the school systems, etc. I remain agnostic and somewhat cynical as to the accuracy of all of the death and destruction predicted for our region.
Over the past thirty years the media has devoted vast resources to weather reports, and between that and our modern 24 hour a day news cycle, these clowns have to do something to justify their jobs and expenses, so every snow flake becomes an earthshaking event to be trumpeted about for days before and afterwards. I'd guesstimate that 2/3 of the time it's much ado about nothing. Perhaps this week will be different. But I'll wait and see....
