Actually, the secret to grave robbing is based on the conservation of labor. In the days of wooden caskets, the method would not be to dig out the entire grave so as to lift the lid. Instead, a smaller hole would be dug,aiming towards either end of the coffin - feet or head. An axe or some other implement would be used to break through that portion of the lid alone, a chain would then be tied to the upper or lower extremities, and the whole body then yanked out through the aperture, rather than having to dig up hundreds of more pounds of dirt so as to have access to the whole lid. It's a lot easier, or so I'm told...

I think an even better idea would be to mount the gun inside the coffin. Imagine the grave robber lifting the casket lid and BLAM!!!
The only problem would be that the gravedigger would have to lift the dead body out of one hole just to drop it into another.
That and in the event of an undead uprising, we would have to deal with armed zombies. Makes one think twice about gun control :-)
