RIP Frank Panton

Was just informed of his death. To the vast majority of folks he is unknown, but as the article points out, he was a key member of Britain's nuclear interests, (not all of which are listed in this article), and was a close friend of my family's. He was a quiet and kind man, with a good sense of humor, and an easy going manner. He grew up the hard way in being an expert on bombs, disarming them during the Battle of Britain. He never bragged about his heroism, he didn't have to. In fact he always was reluctant to talk about it, even to a youngster with a keen interest in the War. His family and ours grew quite close during his various postings here, and I'll always treasure those memories, Britain has lost a Patriot and my family has lost an old Friend.
