"Life After Death" research

I am rather neutral on this topic, at this point. My one great difficulty is with how 'death' is defined. It seems to be somewhat inaccurate the way many medical staff use it in these instances. For me, the definition is that once you're dead - you don't come back. If you do come back - you weren't really dead*. If one goes by that definition, then I'm not sure that we can rule out a variety of mental phenomena for these testimonies.
