Happy Birthday Eddie Cochran!

Another of my faves. In my opinion he's right there in the second tier of first generation Rock'n'Roll Greats, behind Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly and Little Richard, nestled comfortably with Elvis, Fats, Jerry Lee, Bo, and the Everlys. Performer, songwriter, musician, and right out front attitude. You can see the influence throughout late 50's rock as well as with Springsteen, the Who, Brian Setzer, Dave Edmunds, Robert Gordon, the Sex Pistols, and (I think) Paul McCartney. The guy was hot. Unfortunately, he's probably better appreciated in Europe than in his own country. Not the first time that's happened...
