The article mentioning that there was no bunny suit, only a white hood, is the first I've heard of this, (and I was around and remember these incidents being reported).  I am curious why this wasn't announced at the time. 
One difficulty that any researchers will have is that Bunnyman was not reported extensively in the press.  Most news regarding him was delivered via the local newscasts on TV, (primarily Channel 9, who really liked this story, and had several modest reports about it over that week - there were many Bunnyman sightings after the first two were 'officially' reported).
