Yahoo decides to commit suicide

yahoo is by far the most annoying site I deal with on a regular basis. Their ads are the most annoying and intrusive, sometimes even messing up my browser. I barely use it, now, as a result. This will encourage others to abandon it, as well.

Buchwald's Thanksgiving Column
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/11/23/AR2005112302056.html
Buchwald was a nationally syndicated humor columnist who lived in DC. In the 50's, he was stationed in Paris, and wrote this column to explain our Thanksgiving holiday to the French. It became a tradition to run it every year, and was sort of an annual ritual in DC to have him deliver it to the Post for publication, etc. With his death, the Post stopped publishing it, but I'll continue: One more little bit of DC ritual, preserved.

It's amusing to see the laws that this is based upon are from 1934. That's downright science fiction in the Ol' Dominion. Most of the laws and attitudes are based on pre-Appomattox times...
