Happy Birthday Dad
You are missed.
You'll pardon my cynicism. In the 1950's, the "experts" said we were ten years away from fusion energy. In the 1960's they said we were twenty years away. In the 1970's, we were now thirty years away. In the the 1980's they finally wised up and stopped predicting. I'm still waiting for the flying car I was supposed to get in 2001.
Art Buchwald was a famous political satirist in his day, and one of the more noted members of DC society. He was a favorite of my Father's, who got me reading the columns back in fifth grade.
For decades, the Washington Post published this story every Thanksgiving, up to Buchwald's death. I will continue that tradition.
